Doornbosch, Scott Scott Doornbosch died peacefully in his home in Tinley Park, Illinois on July 27, 2012 after a brave and determined struggle with cancer, at the age of 60. He was born in 1951 in the western suburbs of Chicago. He attended Glenbard West High School in 1966 and later graduated from East Leyden High School in 1970. From 1970 to 2004, Scott held various positions in the Chicagoland area. From 2005 to the present, he was an author of mystery fiction. He is the author of "Basic Black, a Tony Black Mystery." In recent years, he was an active member of the Southland Scribes, a group of authors residing in the southern suburbs of Chicago. His many friends and fellow authors remember Scott for his warmth and hospitality. Scott was the loving son of the late Frank and Alma Doornbosch. He is survived by his brother, Wayne (Susan) Doornbosch; his sister, Lynn (Thomas) Shackleford; and his close friend, Gene Kramer. We have all been blessed by his warmth, energy, kindness, and intelligence. Visitation Thursday 3-9 P.M. Funeral Services Friday 10:00 A.M. at Lawn Funeral Home, 7732 W. 159th St. Orland Park.
